i've been floating along on some sort of plane
not exactly here not exactly not
it's as though i'm not existing
and i'm wondering if i'm responding correctly when people are talking to me
and i'm wondering why i'm not hearing
or not caring
or not particapating
limbo
it's almost as if i could pinch myself
and feel
nothing
i do feel nothing
i am an empty vessel
with no direction
bobbing on a furious current
and not caring
there is no panic
there is no pain
there is simply
nothing
how can this be
it cannot i have always felt deeply
lived hardily
enjoyed immencely
and yet here i sit
forlornly
wondering what is happening to me
or not happening
and i'm wondering if my life has died
and i'm thinking that probably has to be it
how else could i feel nothing
and if i can feel nothing
how do i know that
i feel nothing
is that not a feeling
feeling nothing
or is this void this pit this empty gut
a fraud
a facade
a fake
for the real torment within
for the real feelings that i am fucking up my life
that i am stupid beyond belief
and all of a sudden i know
there is no truth to the idea that i am empty
because the truth is that i am full of it
full of shit
not empty at all
and if i truly am a vessel
bobbing in the furious current
then i'm sunk
and i know it
and everyone knows it
and i cant hide it
anymore behind the excuse of emptiness
there thats a relief
the knowing is better

Everyone suffers from empty feelings. It is an effort to fill up one's soul. But there are ways and means.

I have been in that same void many times
you would think i would make a map on how to get out for the next time.

jose, you write for us all. as much as i complain about the ups and downs, it is the vacuum which i fear the most, the limbo that causes me to stay in bed endlessly because i just can't seem to care enough to get up, you express it so well, and if you are full of shit, then we are all bound to be flushed any minute because it is a common malady. i don't mean to take away from what you are feeling, your pain is yours and knowing others share the same does not make it less, only hopefully more bearable. love sue
