about being mad

it just isn’t fair
but
what good would it do
would it make anything different

we could
get over it
remembering in the end
that it just doesn’t matter

and we only
get this day
for fun
who knows about tomorrow
and being mad
this day
blows it right out of the water
so
I vote for fun
for shaking the proverbial water off the back
for furgeddaboutit
and here and now I’ll laugh at the eyes of anger

I am going to take this day
for the gift that it is
and I’m going to laugh
and love
and enjoy
even if I am
spittin mad
