I read
a lot
sometimes I can knock out
three books a week
it’s my homework for writing
it’s my escape from the mundane
sameness of life
I am
a constant reader
I love a good story
one in which I know the people
feel at home
cry when the last page is turned
I’m worried a bit
that TV. and movies
have taken away the joy
of the written word
I’m worried that too many people
neglect the film reels of the mind
no matter what
a movie will never ever be as good
as the book ever
it is a given that the mind
will see a version beyond compare
that the imagination
is stronger more compelling
more vivid
than any back lot in Hollywood
a given
read
I tell you read
ignite your soul with the passion of the written word
become a standing regular at your library
on first name basis at a second hand book store
a trader of books with friends
and read it all
whatever strikes your fancy
and then whatever does not
hidden gems abound
reading is never a waste of time
turn off the noise of life
and immerse
your heart
cause maybe
someday
you just might come across
something
written
by
me
Carry that torch, young lady. I suppose I do not read enough...but I shall never stop the love of the written word and if your book ever comes out I will enjoy reading that too. You are one woman with so much common sense and street smarts.

Josephine you are a girl after my own heart. I turned the tv off in May and have not had it on since then, Just sat in the sunroom all summer reading. Have you read the YaYa sister hood, and Little altars everywhere, I really liked that duo. Well I dont know what you are into but I love to read.TV stinks...great fantastic write here. Truth, Floria
