my observations at Yosemite

how do you describe Yosemite
the sheer magnitude
breathtaking
unbelievable
reality
of those rock formations
in that valley
to peer
all around
and know that you are surrounded
by such gigantic
formations
of granite
rising 3000 feet
the play of light
on the surface is a show like no other
and the
lines of vertical drop
are no less than astounding
the valley is full of meadows and streams
alive with wild life
color changing trees
and lush fern
and all around
beyond the pine
the rocks
everpresent
ever
overwelming
in their strength
and beauty
ever drawing your vision to them
as you cannot fathom
their existence
as real
they humble the biggest ego
they call to mind a higher power
in a breath of pristine high country air
it is a place to revisit
it is a place to carry in your heart
it is a place in this hurried life
to rest
to ponder
to amaze
