born with it
can’t describe it any other way

just as surely as
breathing
out it comes
with a flurry of flying fingers

surely not
do I think of myself a bard
heavens no
poetess
can’t even pronounce that one
wordsmith
now that sounds good
picture, melting and banging
and holding up a horseshoe
full
of pretty lovely dribble off your tongue
words ah lovely words
all strung up
just so
the will to write
is
all
about words
they ring in my ears
they drip off my fingers
and then
they
live
