there is a loneliness in me
it is nothing to do with
my relationships
it has to do
with me
it has to do with
restlessness
it has to do with
looking down a road
and just wanting to go
it has to do with
feeling the breeze
and wanting to be on it
I
don’t know what I want
I
don’t know that any place else
is the answer
I
don’t know that anyone else
is the answer
I don’t even know
what the question is
I just know
that
I
need
want
to know Me better
I want to pamper Me for a while
I want to see and hear and taste life
instead of what I’m doing now
and that is
just choking it down
and not appreciating
it’s value
there that’s it
appreciating the value
the quality
of these few years we have
to kick around
there is a loneliness in me
and why can I not
see
that here and now and these people
who love me
and want me
happy
are it
are what it
is all about
why
this yearning
why
do we all get this
is this inherent a given
monotony same ole same ole
is there
can there be
peace
from the itch the breeze brings
peace
from the loneliness
the swelling ache
in
me

Oh yes, I can relate - don't feel bad...it isn't greed, just need for something more and different...I recommend a separate vacation, a chance to find out who you are when you don't have to play a role.

Oh, I can understand this all too well, I try not to feel guilty about the restlessness and to remember from dissatisfaction comes change and from change comes growth. Loved your poem.
