at a celebration
of the birth of a dear friend
bunch of ladies
laughing and carrying on
and
my eyes are drawn to one
I can’t stop staring
her hands
unconsciously moving
unconsciously accenting
her every word
beautiful
almost like a dance these hands
so graceful
and I thought
she doesn’t even know
this gift she has
this beauty this charm
so natural
such a part of her being
such a gorgeous part of her
aura
drawing the words in the air
giving them more meaning
more substance
with soft gentle swirls
and by instinct I know
that these hands are extensions
of
a loving soul
and I raise a toast in celebration
of
the friendship and love I feel
in the loving dance of
her hands
