I fancy myself

somehow somewhere I
got it in my head
I was good at this thing or other
the this thing being writing
and the other being
painting
now there are a couple of other things
thrown in here and there
with the this thing and the other
but one is not generally an
artist
by choice an artist comes with many ramifications
like
eccentricity
and
oddness
faraway looks that cause consternation to the seeing soul
an artist looks to the beauty
sees the mix of color in a rainbow
bows deeply to a sunset
stops to see the color in a vat of pears at market
the line the sweep of curve a pallet of color mixed perfectly
an artist
sees deep within to hidden recesses that few others dare to trod
an
artist
is what I fancy myself
what I am now these days
what I always was in those days
