MY FATHER’S DAY TRIBUTE
Born in 1908, he was
The sixth of seven children
Today he remains the only child
Alive from his defunct generation.
My dad, you see, is a man of God
For he believes, that’s the way to be
He reads his Bible and says his prayers
In the morning and at bedtime too.
Like his father, he sired seven
That number he explains has meaning great
Seven represents the days of a week
Seven also signifies completion.
A stricter dad no one could have
No dating did he allow
Still growing-up days were a hoot
And love for Dad wavered not.
Dad taught me how to drive,
And clean spark plugs too
“Pay attention to noise as you drive,”
And stranded, you will never be,” said he.
And for entertainment, Dad played the piano.
Saturday nights were musical chairs
Dad pounded the keyboard
Like you’ve never seen
Left leg keeping time
Shoulders pumping
Nose tip close
To keyboard
Range!
Those were the good old days
Now at 98, Dad still holds his own
Though his memory plays a trick or two
But he could still belt out a tune
On his trusted old piano.
And so to you, Dad, a tribute make
On behalf of all your children too
May God continue to bless you
On this Father’s Day then some
Accept our thanks and love
For being such a loving Dad!
May God bless all you fathers who read this!

How glorious - 98!!! I'm thrilled for you...sadly, I lost mine a bit over two years ago, just 2 months shy of 78. But a miracle was given to us, in 1984, and The LORD let me have him for 19 years longer than would've been. Ours was good, those last 19 years, and I miss him sorely right now...
This was wonderful to read...please give your Father a little kiss for me, too, and tell him I said, the proof of his excellency lies in the fruit...namely, LENA. The Spirit of Glory is all over you - I see it, even on your picture...[I know, when I am in the presence of Greatness, in The LORD's Kingdom, Lena.] I took my grandson, Jason, to your site, after reading your review to us[God bless you!]...he is Spirit-filled also, and he could see the anointing, as well. He was overflowing with joy! You just tell your Daddy that...and he will smile all day!
Be blessed. love you ~ rhonda
