Step-Mothers Remembered
Mother's Day has come and gone
Great tributes made by one and all
Father’s Day is due up next
More tributes will be made for sure
But when, prey tell, is Step-Mother's Day?
Don’t they deserve some tribute too?
“Ah, yes,” you say
“You read about them
In tales from Cinderella,
Snow White, Hansel and Gretel
What more could be said?”
Lots more could be said
And say them I would
For step-mothers are special
But just not appreciated!
To step-mothers I say
Your inherited task
Is misunderstood by most
To take on a child not borne by you
Is such selfless sacrifice!
You should be praised
And praise you I do
For mother you are
In spite of the step!
May God Bless all step-mothers
May they be given
The respect they deserve
Husbands don’t be backward
In coming forward
To praise your new wife
When your children are near!
Let’s rally for a special Step-Mother’s Day!

the top re Mother's Day. For quite a number of people, it is
a step-parent that they want and need to pay homage to.
I know of cases -- and I am sure you do -- where a step-mother
{or -father} has saved a child who was mistreated by his or
her birth mother. . .or never knew her. Glad you posted this.
