Unchecked thoughts can destroy you, if you let it...

Unchecked Thoughts

H. Lena Jones

So they were only silly thoughts

Why pay attention to them at all

They come and go,

Some make you smile

Some even make you blush

What harm can silly thoughts do?

But did you know

A rambling thought

If left unchecked

Will attach itself to an

Incident in your past

And like a virus

Feeds and feeds

Depleting you of strength

Until you fall victim to

Its vice-like grip

And act upon those

Ugly thoughts?

Before you find yourself ensnared

In this plight, my friend,

Take flight!

God’s word to you is

Think better thoughts!

“Whatsoever things are true , whatsoever things are honest,

Whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,

whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report,

If there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,

Think on these things.”

(Philippians 4:8)

Great advice, Lena. Even though it can be hard at times, to think more positive and not pay to much attention to negative thinking can be a great step toward happiness.

Lena, your own mind is beautiful and pure, and reflected beautifully in these words. I'm so honored to be your sister...and friend.

The LORD has blessed you! Love, Rhonda [& Josiah]

Amen to this exceptional encouragement, reminding us that Christ's wisdom is much better than our own, and that there is a grave danger in entertaining anything that takes a stand against His Truth.
