Titles

Some folk waste no time

In telling you their job title

As if it describes who they really are

“I’m Dr. So and So…”

Or

“I’m The Manager of…”

Or

“I’m C.E.O. of…”

Or

“I’m a Financial Planner not a Financial Advisor…”

Titles don’t really impress

Don’t let it bother you

If you don’t have one to express

Titles are like window dressings

Here today, gone tomorrow

Titles are pretentious

But there are exceptions

Which are rare and lasting treasures!

Along the lines of treasured titles

Are the ones others see by your attitude

Of patience and kindness

Love and compassion

Integrity and humility…

I think you get

The picture!

Who you are is not found in a temporary job title

Who you are is found within you

Depending on your nature

It will draw others naturally

Or serve to isolate!

The Apostle Paul says that

Our attitude should be the same as that

Of Christ Jesus…

“Who, being in very nature God…

made Himself nothing,

taking the very nature of a servant…”

(Philippians 2: 6,7)
