Sometimes I'm funny, others I'm sexy, occasionally philosophical. And sometimes I visit my dark side. A reflection on the bleak future that awaits many young people.

The girl who sold you her body last night
lies dead - eyed and trembling in a doorway.
Denied love, she sought comfort where she could
But in the end found no escape in opiates.
Her mind full of the demons your lust bought her
and she lies in the lowest ring of her own hell.

The boy denied an opportunity
lies crushed and bleeding in a burning car,
Castrated by our cold indifference,
died seeking a way to prove his manhood
It was not that he did not want to live
But that he had no reason not to die.

The aimless losers stand eternally,
abandoned in endless, unmoving lines,
lacking energy or words to voice complaint.
They complain through self destruction
we gave them no ideas to shape their dreams,
nor any dreams that they could care about.

The child looks at this dying world and then
at his father, with disappointed eyes.
Unable to articulate contempt
he discards the inheritance, asking
Is this all that you have left to give me.
