MOVE

(selection from upcoming book)

i moved from momma's to mine
and left to do right by me
now, gone is the security once easily found in the womb
then I moved and something happened inside of she and a revolution was born
a great movement of mass called me
gone is my security

now, one ear to the door
the other on the floor
eyes watching every window..listening…watching…waitin'
for something, anything…to move

and my man said "How 'bout I move-in?"
i said "Move?" you mean like -- move over,
move closer, move faster, move slower?
move my shampoo left, so your deodorant may rest and not move - ever?
your key, my key and we'll all scream eventually
cause you and your big ideas are getting in my way

landlord got his key, come and go as he please
got the nerve to think he set me free
he trying to try me but he don't know the half of me, or believe
i'll just move

my sista's itchin' to get out
cause prison ain't about - nothing
but isolation and time
to get real with your crime, yourself and your shit
but she SAY she want to get home to her lil' bit

so she scratched to get up, now out
lookin' for the isolation she didn't want in the joint
she missed the whole damn point, again
back on the block, looking for her first love - a rock
suckin' up pipe-head dreams made of flesh and glass
selling her ass to ANY bidder to buy a kiddy dinner
so the baby's bowels will just mooovvvve

my ancestor preached "The Sun Do Move," by the might of God, behind the moon and
these rays of Ra move men & mules out of big city streets and back road heat
where stillness moves at light speed as old folk rock under the elm's breeze

my sun don't sleep, your purpose to greet
our African son & daughter
who must fetch the water…that moves
moves in us, through us, over us, with us
and like the sun and my man...it moves on
indiscriminate of my presence in their equally important movements

movements are nothing without matter
and the matter is you who must move
or, you will fall like a fool…for everything
you, me, us, communist, socialist, religious
revolutions must continue
till we get it right
right now
right away
right on
or, be left
left-wing
left-over
left out
and you ain't really gotta choose but
YOU WILL MOVE

The Nubian Queen walks with honor. Those who choose to believe she is every mans corner. She is the eyes that her true king will see. she is the wisdom that she will always lead. she was blessed with wisdom. which she holds the key. Let the world know she is the jewels of God dreams. Don't be confuse of who she is. Whether it be man are those who are confuse. The black women the link between the heavens and earth.
