The rain descended on my brow
One early summer day;
It kissed me lightly on the face
As I went on my way.

The houses on the street were still,
Each bird was in its nest;
While children slept, their parents grabbed
A moment more of rest.

My glance into the face of dawn
Brought pleasure to my eye:
A golden jewel framed by clouds
Of silver in the sky.

I marveled at the blessing of
A sight of endless worth,
This God-delivered wealth that has
No equal on this earth.
