The car as viagra:love is blind.



Nearing his dotage

he can still use his clutch

to control her--

and she will respond.

He is in gear

his drive unfettered.

Now that he is

inside of her

he can hear the

steady moan of the engine

the hard pulse

of the pistons

and in the end,

the tail pipe

gives off a perfunctory

trail of exhaust--

he gives the door

a gentle shove

 

he is in love.
