The Garden
It is an evil against nature.
Its adamant symmetry, the pruning...incessant castration.
The tangle of the flowers
now in ramrod straight rows, polite flirtations at best.
The sun bathes them in light,
and they want to riot,
under the promise of its warmth,
they see the birds in flight
and the maddening buzz of bees
but for the garden
it is a temptation
an empty tease..
