Dozing At The The Grand Cafe
Summer rain--
the confusing enticements
of conversations
And in the corner
sequestered--
sinking into the musty womb
of an old couch--
I sputter
in and out of sleep
waking from an ill-conceived dream.
Through the glass window pane
I see the nameless pedestrians
dodge the wet invective of rain--
On the walls above
painted , pained eyes
stare at me.
Dark pupils
trapped by a picture frame
plead with me
"Who'll stop the rain?"
( published in the Somerville Journal)
I see the nameless pedestrians
dodge the wet invective of rain--
"
Well done. I really liked this!
