In the ballet of life...you call the dances.

Ruby Dancers

Ruby Dancers, as I watch you
Twisting in the breeze,
Your tiny ballet slippers
Just a-kicking as they please!
Your fluttering jade-green tutus
Go a-flapping in the wind,
As up, up, up! then quite abrupt
You come spinning back again.
Oh, how you delight me
Bringing music to the air,
While gracefully adorning
The step, the stoop, the chair!
I love to wake summer mornings
To find your slippers cast about;
Ruby-dye bleeds onto my palms
As I...busily toss them out!
So now, the entire front-garden
Is paying homage to your beauty;
After all, when its Fuchsia dancing,
'Tis the Balletomane's chief duty!

My dear Rhonda,
Shame on me! You posted this delightful poem over two years ago, and I just discovered it. What do they say? "Better late than never." I'll attest to that. I love your poem, "Ruby Dancers."

I have 67 rose plants of several different kinds but only one fuschia, and it's a fairly new replacement for my former favorite fuschia, "Voodoo," I believe it was called, with a wonderful purple coloring.

As you may know from reading my own poem, "A Walk In My Garden," God's glory is revealed in many ways, one of which is in the simple splendor of his flowers. There are few things more pleasurable to me as a writer than extolling the beauty and influence of God's flowers!

Very nicely done!
Richard

This was an absolute delight to read, Rhonda. I love fuchias but I don't think that they grow here, at least I haven't seen any since I moved here. I love to garden and watch things grow and as a child I thought that the flowers all danced at night as I slept. Wonderful work.
Take care,
Sherry

Rhonda,

Glorious poetry! I love fuschia (well, any flower). Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
