he smiled when she asked him if he was a dream
as they sat drinking their ruby wine
and writing lines of verse;
she waited for him at the edge of the night
to travel in time to a lifetime away
life was the night
and like two lonely stars
they dwelled above the sea
he came to her dreams in the dark stilled night
and spoke as a mortal does
and she asked him again for she wasn't sure
are you a dream?
