Winds

Nothing affects our day to day living like the weather. The winds blow where they will and the rain falls as it chooses. But, life goes on!

Poem Artwork

The wind is something fascinating to me.

It can be a whisper singing softly above a tree

Or it could be a roaring and forceful power.

It can change is moods from friendly to vengeful within the course an hour.

Sometimes it captivates us as we listen to it sing

And we watch the birds as they freely and happily wing

High above the trees and high above the ground

But other times we are taken back by the unkindly sound

Of the forceful wind which blows things to and fro

It can blow in destructive circles or it can simply go

From east to west and north to south with great velocity

Sometimes it can simply be unnoticed, laying in sweet simplicity.

Though we can’t see it, it makes itself known

In summer it cools us, in winter it chills us to the bone.

When the wind blows greatly and rains fall from the sky

As lightning and thunder call out to you and I

We run to take shelter upon the approach of a storm

The wind and the rain, the clouds take the form

Of a part of nature which we cannot control

For that is indeed not a part of mans role.

Trust God!

I enjoyed this one, Lew. The wind is an amazing force. You can't see it, but you sure can feel its gentleness or its might, depending on its mood. Excellent write!

God Bless

Oh yes - this is an excellent construct.

Wind is a marvelous thing, whatever it touches responds honestly to it. It creates a symbiosis that I find nowhere else in natural life.

This was good dear Lew ...

Could use a nice cooling breeze about now. Delightful write on the forces of nature that we would love to control but can't.

Thanks for reminding me of how much I loved the wind as a child. I found it to be exciting. But like water, it has it bad side as well as good. It can be devasting and do much harm. But like the Holy Spirt it has a driving force which moves us, excite us and drivies us.
