The Pitfalls of Love

She found herself in love with him and saw no way to change it.

Though she knew deep down inside that this love would bring her down.

Arty was a ruthless cuss, no conscience and no wit.

But when he held her in his arms she couldn’t get around

The fact that her love for him was strong and she longed for his gentle touch.

She should have turned and run away the first day that she met him

But now she had fallen into a deep abyss or cavern or such.

Even though she knew they would never have the life she longed for

Andorra couldn’t help but walk with him where ever he may go.

She did not see this path as one leading to Heavens’ door

But, alas she could not leave him now because she loved him so.

Was God looking down from Heaven above?

Would he deliver her from this trial?

Would he teach Arty how to love?

Might he change Arty’s’ life style?

She did not see a happy ending to this sad, sad tale.

Yet, she followed Arty where ever he went

Up any hill and down every trail.

Love can be a dangerous thing.

It can cause one to make wrong choices.

It can be wonderful but it can also sting.

Causing lovers to cry out with painful voices.

Pray to God to help you channel your love down the narrow way.

And pray to him that you might sing

His praises every day.
