The Trees are dancing!

We had another welcome visit from the rain overnight. I watched through the window as the trees sung merrily in the wind.
While watching I wrote the following:

Poem Artwork

The Trees are dancing!

Outside my window nature puts on an extravagant show.

The trees in the wind are dancing, waving to and fro.

As the wind caresses their leaves they move in unison.

They seem not to miss the absence of the sun.

Today is gray; the rain has now finished its fall.

However, the wind is still leading the dance to the left and the right.

Insuring the perfect choreograph of trees, grass and all.

An occasional leaf blows free from a tree here and there.

They are an added attraction of the September Ball.

As I watch them float quickly across the lawn I simply stare.

The beauty of autumn is taking control

I feel the temperature dropping as the wind takes on a chill.

The song of the wind and the dancing of the trees touch my soul

I have seen many autumns but it moves my soul still.

For soon the leaves will put on a glorious show

The colors will blend together, painted by God’s hand.

As the next few weeks pass I will watch as one by one they go.

The leaves leave the trees to rest in peace.  All winter it will stand.

Unadorned and uncovered except by an occasional snow.

The trees patiently wait for spring when their leaves and blossoms return once more.

And then they will start their cycle all over again, a life renewed.

I have watched this wonderful cycle many times before

I have savored the spring breeze, summer sky and the autumn I reviewed.

Yet, somehow I never tire of the sight.

Let us enjoy beauty of the autumn day as well as the spring night.

They are all gifts from God.

Blessed are those that can hear the music of Nature and see the dancing of the trees.

“The Trees are dancing!” is a Paean to Nature’s wonders singing its beauty and harmony.

Long healthy creative life, Poet.

In admiration,

A beautiful ode to the dancing tree, Lew. An enjoyable read...and as the trees lose their leaves, they do not complain...they must do what they have to...

God Bless
Lena
