“I Believe,” is the name of one of my favorite gospel songs. It speaks to me personally every time I hear it or sing it out myself. It is not the song that fills my heart but an overflow from my heart that makes me sing it. This shares only the title but it tells what I firmly believe in my heart.
I believe the sun shines because of his amazing power.
I believe that he stands with me even through my darkest hour.
I believe he speaks with me if I have spiritual ears to hear.
I believe he is the one who gave me the love of those I hold dear.
I also believe that I must give because he first gave to me.
I believe there is a reason for all things that come to be.
I believe in Jesus Christ because he came from the Father above.
I believe that we have the gift of salvation because of his undying love.
I believe that love like his is like a flower that grows.
I believe it is also brighter than the sun that glows.
I believe that everything we see or hear is a part of He who made us what we are.
I see him in the darkness of night and in the moon and each and every star.
If I do not respond to his everlasting love in faith and repentance
I will have turned away from my source of life and lost my claim to innocence.
If believe that God and Jesus Christ are one and the same.
It was by the power of God that Jesus healed the lame.
I believe that all my life has been fashioned by his will and might.
It has been because he has opened my eyes that I now have his insight.
I praise not myself for the sight to see or spiritual ears to hear.
I praise my Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ who in my heart I hold dear.
And I add my believe to yours, dear Lew. Once again you have managed to stir my heart with this divine piece of writing. Wonderful, my friend, as always.
This is such a beautiful and true write...truly from your heart...I believe that our lives are fashioned by His will, and I am so glad that He opened my eyes...my favorite hymn is "I Saw The Light" my papaw sang this in church...miss him very much...you've given me a little trip down memory lane my friend...loved this write, so glad that I stopped by this afternoon.
