Last night we got a snow. We had a few dustings last week. This one was only about two inches but the fact that the temperature has been in the teens for a while meant every single flake that fell stayed right where it landed with more to land on top. The snow came in on an eastbound wind so it moved across the sky. It is a beautiful sight to see. That is why I wrote the following poem.
Snowflakes coming from the sky but they are not falling.
They are riding the wind to the side following as they hear it calling.
Snowflakes riding across the darkness… they are small
But they are so many riding in the wind that I could never count them all.
Snowflakes are dancing in the street lights and landing horizontally.
Because the ground is oh so cold they do not melt away but keep coming continually.
The beauty of the snow can take your breath and mesmerize you as you gaze.
It is winter now and the snow has come and will stay for days.
Snow is white and pure, cold and crystallized as it rides the wind.
Oh, the beautiful sight I see when the morning light comes again.
The snow now brightens the day and dresses up the trees.
Now and then it will flow from the branches as it is called by the breeze.
The snow is a beautiful symbol of the purity of our Lord.
It shines bright and glows in the sun and can fly like a lovely bird.
Very nice and very true, "the purity of our Lord"... but our wildest imagination can't begin to visualize the purity - - I sometimes think all the snowflakes we've ever seen or will ever see are as a single snowflake in His eyes...(depth, wideth,height man does not have a clue)..do you?

I absolutely love to see snow fall!!! I call it God's decoration. The trees are sooo beautiful with snow trapped on the leaves and sometimes ice crystals making everything shine. Just awesome. So far this winter, I've only had a dusting of snow, nothing major. I'm hoping for at least one good snowfall! Excellent write, Lew!
Beautiful write my dear friend, how refreshing this was to read tonight, I just got home from church we had a wonderful service, your write connects with the Sermon tonight, "washed me white as snow" enjoyed this, as I did Rhonda's posting about her two grandsons, the preacher and the writer, well glory...I wonder what other good things I will read tonight! God is great!

We, too, have had much snow - and temperatures below zero (esp. with windchill)for daytime! Even so, I had a marvelous Spiritual moment, with the LORD, which I wrote about, too, and may someday post.
