His life was in inspiration to me as a child and more so as I reached manhood.
He was a quiet man but strong in deed and he live for what was good.
One day he stood no more for he was called home to be with the Heavenly host.
Now when I speak about him I cannot help but brag and boast.
For he taught me if you cannot say good of a man then say nothing what-so-ever.
He taught me that unkind words could destroy people and good would come of it never.
He was a quiet man and sometimes I wondered if this were because he found nothing good to say.
This question still weighs upon my mind until this very day.
What I know is that though he expressed not his love in words given in haste.
His deeds reflected that wonderful love… he knew words could be a waste.
If one says I love you it echoes off the walls then quietly fades away.
However, if one shows love in deed the results will live longer than a day.
His life had many heartaches but he would not share these with his offspring.
He would take us hunting or fishing or stand in church with as we sing.
My fondest memories of my Dad are founded and his simple ways withstanding.
He was caring, kind and encouraging and always understood.
Dad, I would miss you so, but I feel you never left my side.
Though you physically are not with me today your love for me will always abide.

Sharon
