The mission of The World Kindness Movement is to inspire individuals towards greater kindness and connect nations to create a kinder world. The WKM encourages individuals of all nations to set up their own kindness movements and join the WKM. Currently, membership stands at 20 organizations in 19 countries, with representation from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Dubai, England, India, Italy, Japan, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Scotland, South Korea, Thailand and the USA.
The Unfolding Story...
The idea behind the World Kindness Movement crystallized at a conference in Tokyo in 1997 when the Small Kindness Movement of Japan brought together like-minded kindness movements from around the world. Recognizing the fundamental importance of simple human kindness as a condition for a satisfying and meaningful life, the World Kindness Movement was formed.
Out of an act of kindness was inspired another charitable act.
One good deed deserves another and this we know is fact.
A people who come together to simply work to help needy others
Can form themselves into a group of which they have become brothers.
Let us join the group of people who give so effortlessly
Let us reach out for sister and brother and give unselfishly.
In giving we receive the greatest gift we could possibly give.
We receive the joy of knowing we’ve lived a life in which we give.
