October arrives in a dubious way

Temperatures drop with each coming day

The warmth of the summer is superseded by blustery weather

The fluffy September clouds are replaced by clouds of gray banding together

The day may be rainy or the haze may give way to the sun

Temperatures may rise and fall several times before each day is done

It is a month of preparation for the oncoming winter ahead

When we will enjoy snowfall covering the ground forming a soft white bed

Yet, we still remember the days of August with its’ warm air and occasional storm

While bracing for the frosty weather ahead so stoke the fire to keep warm
