Thanksgiving is not just a once a year holiday
It is a feeling of thankfulness each and every day
For some Thanksgiving means Christmas shopping
Eating cranberries and turkey and popcorn popping
It means merchants advertising big Christmas deals
But I believe it is more than big scrumptious meals
Thanksgiving is what I feel every day in the year
It is a feeling of gratitude to those I hold dear
And moreover it is thankfulness I voice to God and his son
It precipitates a prayer, invoked as each day is done
Let us not keep Thanksgiving as a once a year thing
Let’s thank God for all of life’s joys that he brings
Today is thanksgiving and so are tomorrow and the next day
Worship God each day and live, love and be happy that way
