We too many times think prayer is recitation
“Our father who art in Heaven”
“Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
In truth Prayer is a two-way conversation
And not a one-way recitation
We carry our troubles to our Lord and make supplication
When things are good we may cry out in adoration
But do we ever pray in total silence and simply listen?
I fear not and therefor never truly know of Gods’ opinion
I may pray to ask for a better life
One that is free of cares and strife
But if I kept silent and listened to his word
The sweetest words, Jesus’ words are thereby heard
Take a moment each day and bow your head
Keep silent. Say nothing but listen to his voice instead
In doing so you will better comprehend
It is God who knows our needs and they are Godsends
