There is a lesson I learn long ago
This causes me to pray to God, “Lead where I go”
When he leads I step out knowing I have his assurance
He gives me courage and his strength which adds to my endurance
In my youth I many times went my own way
His advice I questioned and did not obey
Now I know if happiness, true happiness be my aspiration
I must follow his ways; they lead to true salvation
When he urges me to go and I refuse to go
If my goals are not his; they are far below
I have found it better to say, “Thy will be done”
If I conform my will to his, my salvation is won
