To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

INTERLUDE

 For that moment…

Your name was mine

And you opened doors for me

As you communed with my eyes

To finest textures of sky blue, indulgent panoply

Across the cool measure of gleaming marble squares.

Past hand-rubbed antiquities in stark contrast to the

Reflection of embrace, anew in the glaze

And right angled expanse of bloated clouds

Backdrop hung heavy at dusk above the city-scaped mural.

Our ears oblivious to the din of traffic gnarled below

Privileged only to the symphonies

Two hearts compose in the sway and swirl

Of bubbly crystalline

Effervescence,  yet to be imbibed.

The poetry and intrigue of tone on tone

Expanses… pristine, and crisply white,

painstakingly made,

A Godiva mine, boasting infinite numeric count.

The world at a standstill, hearts raced

Atop mountains of eider fluff, regal stripes

And complimenting crewel, rich in

The delicate swag of emotional embroidery

Ardently appliquéd in that evocative fantasy

As eyes shouted spirituals,

Your warmth melted winter’s curbside chill

And nothing else really mattered

But the now.

It is truly amazing how you draw the reader into your world, Taylor! The experience of reading this made me feel like I was in an opulent penthouse suite with a bottle of fine champagne on ice waiting to be uncorked. As my eyes wander over your words, I see so clearly the refined accoutrements within this place and I feel like a voyeur witnessing such personal visions that I couldn't help but blush. To touch a moment like this, to feel the anticipation and to know that nothing truly matters but the now of that moment in time is emotionally overwhelming. Your capacity for conveying such romantic sensibilities and your ability to capture moments such as this in words makes you unique. I don't believe for a moment this is pure fantasy, it's just too real. I have to believe there is some fortunate man out there who holds this place and time within a special place in memory. Please pardon me for saying this but, Oh, what I wouldn't give to be that man for just one moment!
Still blushing.....
~Butch

so enchanting! like a mini-romance novel... gives such a feeling of perfect, unassuming love this takes me to "soaring" heights; which i'm sure was your inention you are picturesque, in a breath-halting way, without being overly verbose; without belaboring the point. This is like a combination of Dickison, Whitman and Frost, with a touch of ts eliot and a smattering of Michelangelo and Picasso - touching on the 'Godliness' of synergistic love. -- Jeff

Rapturous words of love. My review words pale, but I will try.
Your lines carry me into the world of ultimate loving.
Should your poem be put to music, it would be a wonderful opera.
And, I ask, from whence cometh all of this from fair maiden?
