Between Dawn and the Midnight Moon
I remember the sunrise... blithely igniting the horizon, dangling, precariously, above the apex… as light, streaming through billowing ivory translucence embellished the wonder in your morning eyes. It was as though the past night's moon were imbedded there, just for me... full and shining in orbed perfection reflecting bare limbs beyond the glass and the candescence within your gaze.
Were your eyes their usual verdigris? Was it possible the deep indigo that surrounds them changed their familiar hue in their capture of the moon? Or... was it the fruition of that desire you always find in me as I lay close…beside you, in the tangle of fine linens and plumped down, seduced between the warmth of radiant aurora and the abduction of Midnight's moon? And as you smiled and looked into my acquisitive eyes… You found, reflected, the same visions you share, I will forever dream… with you.
It's summer vacation again, Taylor, and I finally have some time to read and reflect and get caught up. This one is so passionate and lovely, every word a celebration.

It is a blessing to see the sunrise and the moon at the same time. I love the way the sun paints the hues of indigo as it rises, bringing a new day, and with it the singing of birds. I'm glad you are one of us who take the time to notice such things.

I like the way you have created a sense of magnetic tension in this poem with the use of opposing forces, astronomical, earthly and emotional: sun vs. moon, past night's moon vs. imbedded in eyes, radiant aurora vs. abduction of midnight's moon, desire vs. seduced, acquisitive eyes vs. reflected visions. These images serve to intensify the vision, as La Belle Rouge indicates below. Sage's review also hits the mark dead center in her characteristic poetic prosaic style. "Transference of light from the heavens into the eyes of her lover" is an integral theme you maintain from beginning to end. There is definitely some "Moon alchemy" going on here, commingled with the elements of human chemistry. I wholeheartedly agree with Bill Broome: "The quality is never surprising... only the suddenness of your work." The graphic is the perfect companion to this piece as is the quote you have chosen. Like your fellow poets, I am also glad to see you back. This one was certainly worth the wait!

Moon alchemy, transference of the Light into the lover's eyes, illuminated metaphor of capturing Luna's orb into the pupil of the lover's eyes, dilated with lust. Between Dawn and the Midnight Moon, lovers move according to their cosmic orientation, united sensuously, heaven, earth, mind, body, and spirit in balance...a poem to be read in the most holistic way by New Age lovers, double-peaking in climax, ethereal to two kindred spirits who feast on passion Between Dawn and the Midnight Moon...it's very good to see you posting again, Taylor...be well...Blessed Be.
