The first snow of the year

Mud, wind and biting cold at 5 AM

And…on a Monday to boot!

I am not ready for this

The work is still there-just harder

Saturday, A morning to sleep in

At 7 I stumble into my work clothes

Eyes half open, coffee in hand

Boots finally on, I step outside the door

Suddenly, I am awake

The second snow lay before me

New flakes falling on the pristine white blanket

The snow-fall silence of morning is broken

By only the whisper-soft nicker of hungry horses

This…this is the magic

Oh, I wish I could be there. Suddenly, I miss my grandma's farm in upstate New York.

I completely agree, Karen. Snow has a magical influence on the world it lands on. We're on the same page it seems. Thank you. Love and peace,

Regis

You paint a beautiful picture with this write of the majestic strength of horses on a stark white background. Sweet.

I like this. We have icvy wind today in northern New Mexico. The kind that makes houses cold despite the heat.

Great poem to give you the feel of waking up in the morning to a white world. The snow poems I read make me appreciate this Florida sunshine.

Truly sounds very magical to me, Karen.
They tell us we are in for yet another snowy, icy, very frigid weekend here. I am definitely ready for SPring.
