Life’s Angels

Our angels come in many forms

They give solace, security and self worth too

They shape a bit of who we become

In loving who we are at the time

A beloved pet, puppies, kittens, ponies and others

Sometimes our first angels who teach us so much:

Responsibility, patience and kindness to the innocents

And give love, self-esteem and so much more in return

The neighbor who went out of their way

To pick you up each Sunday to take you to church

The teacher who saw the pain inside

But took extra time because she also saw great potential

A grandma on who’s knee you learned

Of Noah, Moses and baby Jesus

And another grandparent who on her visits made sure

That favorite foods were there and basic care was provided

Siblings who stuck by you, no matter what

Friends who were so honest it hurt

But whose words woke you from sleep

And pushed you onward to a better you

Angels so many it is too hard to name

All those who deeply touch our lives

How fortunate we all are, as I feel I can guarantee

Many “angels” have touched each and every

One of us
