The Swing

She had a lot on her mind,

A great deal she needed to sort out.

She drove until seeing an empty park,

And decided to sit for a while.

The seat she chose was in a soft swing,

With ruts underneath made deep and dusty.

Before too long, she found herself swaying,

And throwing her head back she looked up to the sky.

She was suddenly grasping the chains on each side,

And pumping her feet to go higher.

Memories washed over her and her cares flew away.

Smiling, she jumped, landing clean on her feet,

She left then, with a spring in her step,

Having left her cares on the breeze

I love this. Yes thereis somthing about swings that return us to the equilibrium that came so naturally to us when we were children.

Would that is was that simple, this washing away our troubles . . . And you know what? . . . Sometimes it is just that simple . . . It all has to do with our priorities in life . . . Good one . . .

Yes, Yes, I do this, I love how you feel as you go higher and higher, it's childlike freedom and feeling of flying. It's exhilarating and intoxicating to be swinging your cares away. Awesome poem, thank you for bringing happy moments to mind.
Peace, love, and light,

For an instant I was transported back to my youth and how I felt as you when I let go of the swing and landed back on earth as if I had accomplished some wonderful feat. Great write

Read reviews from you today to others. You alway give them a positive note. I like this and glad you could come back to earth and forget your troubles so quickly. Riding into the sky on a swing is so nice, but I prefer the kind that don't swing up into the sky but glide back and forth at the park, and at the ice cream stand. A porch swing I guess they are called. We must all not ponder over our worries for long and take them away to the unknown somehow. This write is a great one.**********

Its strange but as a child we were carefree once we arrived at the park and sat in the swing and as adults when things weigh heavy on our mind that swing isn't that far away. Thank you Karen for sharing.

Newfie hugs, Rose
