Stand up for yourself, your life,

For though you may have been crumpled up,

Pounded on and so very disrespected

Your value has always been within.

Stand up for truth, you are too smart to buy the lies,

Of the conflicts of sex and violence and drugs,

That “they” the media put in front of you,

‘Cause sex sells, consequences don’t.

Stand up for yourself and who you are,

For the person you were meant to be.

Set your goals and stay true to them,

Do not be swayed from the path.

Stand up for your heart,

For there is no gift so precious to give to another,

And when you realize the diamond you are,

You will know the truth and shun the lies.
