A Soft Place To Land

When you find you have taken on too much,

Or when life throws it at you anyway,

Seek and find that special place,

For at times we all need a soft place to land

For the young man so filled with frustrations,

Built up and boiling inside,

Shooting some hoops, or fishing by a river,

Can be his soft place to land.

For the teen newly graduated and off to college,

Embarking on this new phase of life

Going and riding her beloved horse,

Or brushing him, or simply kissing him on the nose,

Can be her soft place to land.

For the patient suffering in a hospital bed,

Just attempting to keep her chin up,

During daily demeaning treatments,

Pictures of home and all that she loves,

Are surely a soft place to land.

To the CEO or the mother of three

Whose lives never seem to slow down,

With deadlines and soccer games, appointments galore,

A good book to settle with or a long hot bath,

Can be their soft place to land.
