Why Utah?

 

I came here for the comfort,

Of an old family friend,

I was running away from myself,

And away from a troubled past.

 

I never would have thought in all the world,

That this would be where I would land.

But in this place I have made a life.

From the shambles of what I left behind.

 

So in the shadow of the great Wasatch Mountains,

Among hiking trails, ski runs, and horseback trails,

I have raised myself and raised my children

In this land of old fashioned values,

And a pioneer spirit that speaks to my soul.

Utah...home to many of my forefathers...I've never wanted to live there myself, but I'm grateful for my grandparents who did...
And it sounds like it is definitely home to you.

Utah sounds so beautiful. I love your pure and honest feelings in this Karen. You are such a beautiful person, so no matter where you are your kindness and beauty lives within you.

Utah is a beautiful place, wouldn't mind living there! :) (I do prefer Ohio or would like Alaska, though! LOL Anything to get out of Texas!)

I used to live in the shadow of the Wasatch, myself. :) Lived on 7th East, 15th South. Miss it ... wouldn't mind living there again. It's a big, beautiful country, with mountains and beach within driving distance. :) Well done.

Karen, we all run. Mostly from ourselves, right? I love this. It's a great addition to why I love Utah.
Gald I ran into that (Jack-Mormon) guy in Sacramento at the State Fair... would have never thought I'd end up in UTAH!
