written while in PA

The Now

From Highway 401 to 202 and on,

James Taylor sang me on into the city.

Nostalgia and emotion swept over my being,

“Sweet Baby James” and “Fire and Rain”.

My mind was filled with thoughts,

Of my children and grandchildren at home,

And my family here where I feel so at home,

The history of us all, written on the winds of time,

And all that is real in the now where I exist.

We only have the Now so we must find joy in it. I love this poem because while you are moving through time and space, a sense of Home does not. It merely is. Blessings, J'nia

You've shared a beautiful moment in time where you focus on your treasured fortune--your wonderful family--the wonder of it in poetic words. What you wrote is exactly how I feel when I'm with my family.

Enjoy the music of the new year, the new singers, even the old songs. I saw the Jones Boys on the Christmas Parade from NY City and fell in love with them. Yes, at my age 64, I fell in love with them and their songs. Have to get their music for me to listen to all this 09. Loved them. Have you heard of them?

my now got a monkey wrench throwed in it Karen, I should be well to celebrate the new year though, had the whole holiday day off my office closed down until January 5th, anyway thanks for the good reminder that I'd better not think about the now, even though I'm here. For me the now sucks, I'm looking forward to the future and having a good time on New Years, hugs

Well said and very true, our past, our present and our future is always defined by our family. Good or bad we are molded by what we share with them and what they share with us. This is a wonderful write Karen...enjoyed.

Karen,
I surely can relate to your "Now". I can only exist in the here and now, because to live in the past will be too painful, and to dwell on what the future is going to bring takes too much energy, so the "now" is all we have and we must make the best of whatever our "now" is. Be happy for all the small things in life that make us glad to be alive.
Awesome write...
Peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"

Nice - like a poetic diary. Happy Holidays and thankyou, Karen, for all the positive input that you have afforded me in the past year. I pray that all is well with you and yours and that your New year will be filled with health and inspiration.
Blessings ...
