He Screwed Up
He screwed up, no two ways about it.
A sentence was delivered to him,
But weighed heavier on his son.
He served his time,
Day by day his body was cleansed,
His boy received letters each and every day,
And his spirit found solace in the writing.
At the end of his confinement,
He walked out a better man,
More humble and ready to make amends,
His son alreading drifting about in life.
Within a short time,
His boy was returned to him,
The father vowed to work daily,
To repair the damage his actions had wrought.

A sad story so well-written in verse, really crafty and laden with a great message. Fantastic write! I love it.

From a literary point or view....that was very well written... left me hanging.. wanting to know more.. wanting to know how this story ends. From a practical point of view... I pray that things will work out for the both of them. Thank you for caring... and thank you for using your beautiful way with words to share what is imporant to you with the rest of us. Keep up the good work... it makes a difference in the lives of others... the work... and the writing.
