We Are Friends (dedicated to my friends here at AD)

We are friends here,

We may not shake hands or embrace,

Or share gossip across from one another,

At a diner over a cup of joe.

But we share our lives through our words,

With a depth not always shared between folks,

We tell of our pain and sorrow, our beliefs and philosophies,

Reflections on life and our  precious moments of happy.

We tell of life and death,

The depths of depression and the heights of joy,

Passion and love, politics and interests,

And judgement is rarely issued.

We are our own biggest fans,

We overlook faults and review with care,

We hold one another with thoughts and prayers,

We are friends here.

Amazing but true. I feel such a kinship with my friends here...never would have believed it! It's a charming neighborhood with the very best neighbors; I only wish I had time to visit more.
Well said, Karen, and echoed by each one who has written on this page. :-] Connie [-:

I agree with Georg completely you have put into words what the majority of the members of AD feel. We are a family and it is hard to explain to someone outside of this bond of friendship how real this family is and how much it means to us. I have had people open their hearts, offer to open their homes and yes even their wallets to me since being a member and where else can you find that kind of kindness from people who have never even seen each other before. Yes, we have had our share of bad apples as well but so few that they can never cast a dark cloud over the community we have become. If I ever sold one of my books as a best seller ...(dreaming) or won a fortune in a lottery, I believe the first thing I would do would be to hold a convention for all AD members with financial help for all those who would need it to attend...can you imagine the warmth and happiness that would congregate. Anyway sorry for rambling but your write just got my imagination working.

hugs

Friends, in the animal world they have friends, even in oceans they have friends, but humans that should know better...many don't have friends.
We discovered by a coincidence or someone writing "check Authorsden.com" and one, running to nowhere, alone, suddenly collided with a wall made of friendly people with open hearts and ready to take you on board.
The author here give the dues to those many friends that form the AD family.
Well done!

Georg
