She Danced Like Sex
The lights were soft and the music hard,
At the club at the corner of Fifth and Elm.
The rhythm of Madonna’s “Starlight” rang out,
And the dance floor filled and came alive.
She danced like sex on that sultry summer night,
Her gauze skirt floating just above her knees,
As if blown by a gentle breeze,
And her smile seemed far away, alluring and tempting.
The beat rang on and she lifted her arms,
Her loose fitting tank top rose slightly,
And her long brown hair gently caressed,
That place below her ribs and above her swaying hips,
Which cradles another’s hand so perfectly.
The DJ must have seen her, and the hungry eyes as well,
As he put on Marvin’s “Sexual Healing”,
Then dimmed the lights real low.
Though many were on the dance floor,
Many more eyes were on this solitary dancer,
Imagining themselves with her,
Entranced by the silken movement of her hips,
As she danced like sex on that sultry summer night.
