Rest Easy, My sister
Beneath the ancient ginkgo trees,
In the shadow of her old stone barn,
We carried her and lay her down,
To be received by earth stone and roots.
The rain fell with our tears, softly at first,
Then in brief torrents of weeping.
We shared memories and stories with each other,
But felt privately the sacredness of her to ourselves.
Sincerely,
Connie
I love it when it rains at funerals...not the earth drenching rain, but the soft rain of heaven's tears, which blend with those of us who remain...as if heaven is caressing our cheeks and letting us know that although they are joyful to accept our loved one back home, they understand our need to mourn and to feel the comfort of knowing we do not mourn alone.
May your world be full of peace and memories as you travel through the grieving process. My prayers go out for you...

I am shocked and truly silenced, Karen. And so deeply, heart-achingly sorry to hear of this desperate sadness and great loss. Your words invite us to share in this very touching moment with you and your family, even whilst nursing the weight and isolation of that very private last line. Thank you for this great privilege.
Your mutual courage and determination will always be remembered by me as a light that continues to shine - as does your love and soul-deep togetherness that exudes the strength that will enable you to overcome and continue, albeit now on either sides of a physical divide. The union between your very selves and the place you inhabit is intrinsic to who you both are and will prevail to inspire and protect you afresh. Please know of my sincerest condolences and of my love and prayers for comfort and relief at this tumulteous time of grieving. Kate xx

Teresa will always be remembered by you, her loved ones and us. Thank you for having shared your life with her--with us.
I wish you the best. ~ Sara
I'm so very, very sorry. She fought a valiant battle with you at her side all the way. I'm glad she had a brief remission so you could have that time with her. Teresa was and always will be your sister but she is God's child and he wanted her to come home. She was only lent to you and those who knew and loved her. My prayers are with you that you find peace within your memories. Your healing will be a long process. Rely on God for His strength. Ask for it and He will send it to you.
Bless You My Friend,
Marcia
