Apple Wealth
Apple pickin’ ‘neath our old apple tree,
More fruit than we can possibly eat.
But between the horses, grandkids and I,
We will indeed consume the wonderful fruit.
How fortunate we are, such healthful richness,
We’ve applesauce in the freezer, apple pie filling too,
Full bins in the horse barn and in the house as well,
I pick away and consider our wealth, munching away as I go.

I have the same abundance but with pears. No horses but the grandkids are very happy. Good thing we all love pears because the tree has never produced like it has this year. I shared the bounty with a neighbor and she put up 12 jars of them for me. She also canned some pear butter, delicious! Love your poem.
