Where did the time go my love?
Once we were young and brave,
taking risks and struggling every step of the way.
Full of energy and anxious to work,
never time to read a book or fish the brooks.
Where did the time go my love?
Our babies grew into adults,
grandchildren learns to read and insult.
Our house overflows on Christmas Eve's,
a lot of hungry mouths we try to feed.
Where did the time go my love?
Never time to tease you with kisses and hugs,
and were their toddies drank from our mugs?
I watched as time pulled us away,
promising we'd make it up another day.
Now the years have come and gone,
here we sit ripened and all alone.
No energy left to romance at night,
shuffling through the house we look a fright.
