Daylight withdraws and shuts its shutters,
allowing darkness to enter and cross its threshold,

his insult eradicates my spirit.

until the first light opens its shutters,
stirring a sense of hope to repair my self-worth,
surrendering myself to face my catch-22.
Michael promised to meet me here at sundown.
