Michael's suppose to meet me here at sundown...

Ocean waves soak into the sand,
eye-catching residue frowns cover the beach.
I've become an outsider to him.
There are no contacts or loving notes,
given my crimson shedding lost its color.
It's been three months since my last assurance.

Swells filter sand through my toes,
dregs scuttle along in the undercurrent.
Daylight withdraws and slips away,
allows darkness to enter and cross its threshold,
swallowing my puffed-up silhouette.

Solitude conquers my character,
his insult eradicates my spirit.
I sit here on my own...
until the first rays encompasses me,
stirring a sense of hope to repair my self-worth,
surrendering myself to face my Catch-22.

Michael was suppose to meet me at sundown.

Naughty, naughty of you Michael, to have left this sweet lady poet waiting at the beach! Never mind, Barbara, God has an even brighter tomorrow just waiting for you. No man's an island. You, on the other hand, are one terrific poet, full of love and compassion. Something old Michael obviously lacks. Check out the next wave...there might be a special someone surfing in...just for you!

God Bless
Love, Lena

This is quite a contrast with your other poem. I find it ver pwerful and very introspective. Great one. Victor

Your poetic gift is like a fresh ocean breeze Barbara. Your imagery and sentiment is lilting in this fine write. Michael was the looser.
