Memories of Mother...

Gusts swept away our magnificent days,
we cherished traveling along life's pathways.

Where did the days drift away to Mother?
Were we too busy thinking of one thing or another?

Springs of watching Robins turning the terrian,
searching for worms in an early mornings rain.

Summers fetched fear-provoking thunderstorms,
God sent colorful rainbows for our eyes to adorn.

Autumns filled with multi-colored flying leaves,
landing in streams like kayaks sailing out to sea.

Winters brought snowflakes from paradise,
kissing our faces and making us feel nice.

Where did the days drift away to Mother?
Were we too busy thinking about one thing or another?

I miss your lovely face and brownish-green eyes,
remembering the only time I saw you cry.

You're a precious gem...money won't buy,
you taught me to stand tall and with great pride.
