There's this light within my soul,
burns bright and makes me whole.
Oft times I'm weakened by tribulations,
alluring my mind and causing frustrations.
God's word tells me there will be days like this,
a struggle, temptations, desires to go amiss.
His light flickers and becomes dim,
the devil's aim is to gain a win.
Storms gather as darkness surrounds,
the spirit I'm searching...can't be found.
I feel like a lost soul searching in vain,
nothing surfaces to brighten my light again.
I'm tossed and turned round and round,
my soul's lost...searching and a ground.
Depression slips in to take its punch,
makes my suffering deaden to touch.
Obscurity grips and twists my mind,
nothing's left to seek, no time to unwind.
A raging wind speeds out of control,
charms and entices me into its hold.
I stand to face the dreariness of the moment,
knowing my life is in shear hell and torment.
I stare toward the Heavens and cry,
can you hear...my pleas and sighs?
Heaven rumbles and lightening bounces about,
now's my time to press...and cry for an out.
In the blink of an eye...God heard my pleas,
my light's radiant allowing everyone to see.
Its really hard when life's burdens become to much.. Something has to give and most times its ourselves. God is there to help and sustain. He'll see you through and I will pray for u.......God Bless......M

What a beautiful and inspiring write my friend, so full of power and sincerity. I think we all feel this way from time to time, I know I have...life is a spiritual warfare, good verses evil. But as your poem reassures the reader if we cry out and truly depend on God He will take control and we will prevail. Very uplifting, touches the heart and soul! Enjoyed this much!

a stirring write-i suppose everyone is moved to make suggestions-i have been through a very real bout of depression and i csn honestly say that i believe we need to face that we are depressed for a reason-a valid reason-accept that and force yourself to put one foot in front of the other being pro active in getting through each day-look for any small gift in a day-be well, peace to you, karen

Acknowledge anything that is troubling you, Accept it, and then let it go. For when we acknowledge it, we live in the here and now, and accepting it for what it is, we are telling ourselves that it is not something we can do anything about, and we let it go into the Universe for what comes of any of it, will be what was suppose to be.. Very natural way of living..It releases all fear, guilt and anger away from us. You did just that by praying toward your higher power. I am very proud of you and very happy that you have your lightness back.. Embrace and live!

You have described this battle well dear Barbara. It is something that occasionally subjugates all men and women during their short days on this planet. There is only ONE who can help and soothe during these battles, and He is the Most High God who knows our struggles and loves us despite ourselves. Your insights always move upon my mind and heart - the Holy Risen Christ has gifted you mightily!
